Imagination Preschool

This is a small class of 10 children. For most children, the toddler class is the first step away from parents. Therefore, one of our goals is for the toddlers to be more independent. We teach the children to share, getting along with each other, and to take turns. There is an emphasis on colors and children make a “Color Book” and wear something or bring in something for that particular color for Show & Tell. The children learn various nursery rhymes and make a craft to go with it. We have fun creating various mixtures in our water table such as “Goop”. The children then get to play with it. We also enjoy cooking.

The children in the toddler class have arts and crafts, use of the computer with specific programs designed for toddlers, dress-up and play-house, a music program, story time, play dough (made by our 3 year olds), easel painting, crayons and markers, kindergarten blocks, manipulatives through puzzles and construction toys. We have a large outdoor playground with a sandbox.

In June the Toddlers have a Moving-Up Ceremony.

Children in this class need to be 21⁄2 years old by September and are not required to be potty trained.
