Our
goal is for Imagination Pre-School to be a pleasant, friendly
place for each child. They should be eager to come to school
to learn and have fun. The happiness and well being of all
the children is of utmost importance to us. Our staff will,
through the curriculum, provide each student with a positive
self-image and a strong beginning toward independence. With
this base, your child will grow both educationally and socially.
Our Pre-School and Nursery programs are innovative,
creative, fun-filled, active, and comprehensive. The specific
classroom activities for your child will depend on the age
group, and generally include:
Language arts
Reading readiness and writing
Computer skills
Science units (5 senses, magnets, wind and air,
sink and float, metamorphosis, seeds, environment, creating
colors, good health, animals and plants)
Social studies (holidays, customs, community
helpers)
Music
Arts and crafts
Storytime
Cooking
Daily outdoor play
Our
classrooms are also designed to offer the children art, blocks,
dramatic play, fine motor development, and science through
the use of learning centers. Classroom speakers and demonstrations
as well as field trips are scheduled throughout the year for
additional excitement and stimulation.
Our staff is carefully selected and includes
experienced, degreed professional early childhood teachers
who will offer your child a stimulating, nurturing and creative
learning environment. Our director and head teacher, Eileen
Hummel, has over 20 years experience teaching young children
in our community. We know that each child will have a happy
and fulfilling pre-school experience.
At Imagination Pre-School there is an on-going
open communication between teachers and parents. Information
is sent home on a regular basis describing the activities
taking place in the classroom as well as upcoming events.
Parents will also receive a monthly newsletter with useful
information on child development, crafts, and other items
of interest to parents of young children. Parents may visit
classes or speak to your child's teacher at any time. Individual
conferences will be held in the spring.
